Build It Up

Saturday 6 June was the third year for the Pathway to Construction event in Alexandra park . It was organised in partnership with local construction companies and the borough. Against a background of music by local bands, there were opportunites to have a go at carpentry, bricklaying and other trades offered by Sussex Coast College. Traditional building skills such as lime plastering and flint knapping were demonstrated by the Trust's French Ecofab ( European Regional Development Fund) partners who had stands alongside local companies Chalk Down Lime and Reed Conservation.  There was also  the chance to try strawbale building,  and find out more  about the Trust's Skills2build training centre, the Energise Hastings club and eco retrofit models.
